Charlie Brockwell grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, located on the shores of Lake Michigan.  In 1961, at age 16, he started his food service career at McDonalds as a line cook.  Charlie managed the US 31  Barbeque in Muskegon for the better part of 20 years until opening his own restaurant in 1983 with his wife, Nancy.  The Family Inn in Rothbury, MI was a well known destination for Charlie's famous pork & beef bar-b-ques and special family recipes.  

After closing the restaurant in 1993, due to his health concerns, Charlie and Nancy catered many events in the Western Michigan area.  Later, they sold their products at street fairs and festivals in Michigan and Florida. 

Since Charlie's passing in 2013, Nancy has been working on continuing his legacy!  With the help of the Michigan State Product Center, Charlie's Bar-B-Que Relish can be sold in stores and businesses!  Enjoy this family favorite on a traditional Pulled Pork or Beef Sandwich, Hot Dogs, Brats, Burgers and more...it's great on everything !!! The relish and mixes are made at the 242 Kitchen in Muskegon, MI.
